Liquid Penetrant Level I and Level II
Course Description:
This course covers the body of knowledge for Liquid Penetrant Level I and Level II. It begins with the fundamentals and theory of PT and includes individual techniques within the method. These techniques include Water Washable, Solvent Removable, Lipophilic Post-Emulsified and Hydrophilic, Post-Emulsified Penetrant Inspections.
Course Objectives:
Understanding the theory of how Penetrants function and their limitations.
Knowledge of the sequence of steps when performing Liquid Penetrant Inspections.
Understanding the different types of Penetrant and Developers and the advantages and disadvantages.
Knowledge of the 4 techniques and the advantages and disadvantages.
Knowledge of the discontinuities that can be found using Liquid Penetrant Inspections.
