Advanced Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT)
**Prerequisite – UT Level I & Level II**
This Course covers the body of knowledge for Advanced Ultrasonic Phased Array Inspection. It presents the fundamentals of Phased Array Acquisition and Analysis in addition it encompasses the nomenclature, terminology, equipment and inspection performance requirements.
Course Objectives:
•Advantages and Disadvantages of Phased Array versus Radiographic Testing.
• Understanding the theory of Phased Array.
• Knowledge of Linear Scan, Sectorial Scan and PAUT Transducers
• Knowledge and Understanding of the Scan views and scanning techniques (Single axis, raster, etc.).
• Equipment calibration, operation and instrument software applications.
• Acceptance Criteria, Evaluation, and Reporting.
